Jag säljer delar av mitt Larinisystem till NC'n pga flytt:

Men alltså INTE bakdämparen.

Fungerar felfritt, även om det kanske ser lite tråkigt ut. Jag besiktigade med det förra året med fin-fina avgasvärden så kat'en funkar bra. Och, ljudet är *fantastiskt*.
Observera att det inte längre går att köpa detta legendariska system från fabrik. Se tekniska detaljer nedan.

2. Mazda MX-5 Mk 3, Larini ‘Sports’ Centre Section:

** Unconventionally, the original and lengthy, factory centre section incorporates the catalyst up at the front with a mid-muffler box towards the rear. However, our clever centre section sleeves onto the original catalyst, once it has been cut away from the original centre section. The connection is secured using a clamp. The other end bolts to the rear box. The 'Sports' Centre Section offers one of the most economical means of releasing power from the MX-5's engine: -

- A Stainless Steel ‘Sports’ centre section, which sleeves onto the original catalyst.

- Engineered for greater flow efficiency, using ‘straight-through’ pipe work, after the catalyst.

- Offers better quality sound across the rev range.

- Offers improved low/mid-range Torque.

- Offers much sharper throttle response.

- Delivers an extra 2 bhp. approximately.

- Engineered for optimal flow efficiency by using increased diameter pipe work, and a free-flowing mid-resonator box. This is incorporated to avoid excessive drone or boom on the Mk3.

- Perfectly practical for everyday use.

- Does not vibrate or produce excessive volume at idle or cruising speeds.

- Constructed using aircraft grade T.304 Austenitic Stainless Steel.

- Features 'Satina' polished and 'Lime Chalk' waxed pipe work, for improved aesthetics.

3. Mazda MX-5 Mk 3, Larini ‘Sports’ Cat:

** Unconventionally, the original factory centre section incorporates the catalyst up at the front. However, our ‘Sports’ Cat will sleeve onto the Larini centre section, (which can be utilised separately with the OE Cat). The Larini 100-cell sports cat cleans the MX-5's emissions while permitting a significant power gain and a huge torque increase - without any technical or legal issues. Furthermore, torque increase is higher than that of a de-cat pipe as backpressure levels are modulated. Once fitted, no modifications will be required to the engine management system: -

Delivers an extra 6 bhp.
Delivers an extra 13 lb-ft of torque.
100 cells per square inch for maximum flow with minimal backpressure.
No adverse legal, environmental or technical implications
Guarantees a more free-revving engine with improved throttle response
Significant horsepower gains and a huge increase in torque.
Engineered for maximum flow efficiency, using complex internal METALLIC Cat ‘cores’ (Larini Metalith).
Parabolic megaphone inlet cone design guarantees even flow distribution across the Metalith core - whilst minimizing packaging length.
Reversion pulse outlet cone activates catalytic material for full length of the Metalith.
Ultra durable T.316 Austenitic stainless steel heat casing protects components from heat distortion.

NB: Vehicles manufactured post 1994 require a catalytic converter for MOT emissions legislation. Vehicles subject to police roadside emissions checks may fail if running a de-cat pipe. They will not fail if equipped with a Larini 'Sports' cat - in fact they will register cleaner emissions over the OE catalyst.

Technical:

The Mazda MX-5 Mk 3 incorporates a pre-cat (in the manifold) and a single, 600 cell per square inch ceramic 'cat', offering an approximate 55% flow area. The factory cat is hugely restrictive. Enhancing power from within this area involves carefully tuning the cat to work with the manifold.

A Larini METALLIC ‘Sports’ Cat for the MX-5 Mk3 incorporates only 100-cells, is rated up to 300 bhp, and offers a flow area of approximately 96%. This arrangement is the performance ideal - significantly reducing backpressure levels and enabling increased flow rates. Exhaust flow is almost completely unobstructed through this 'sports' component and as result there is an extremely noticeable power gain. Once fitted, one can expect much sharper throttle response from a now free-revving engine, with cooler operating temperatures. Temperatures are reduced, as accelerated gas-flow minimizes engine-bay temperatures by dissipating heat more effectively. This is particularly important for improved performance, as cooler temperatures boost engine efficiency while protecting the manifolds from damage.

A Larini Cat is Euro-3 emissions level rated - returning cleaner emission results than the standard catalyst, making it possible for vehicle tuners to obtain high power gains, whilst meeting government emission levels and staying road-legal with high reliability. Unlike De-cat Pipes, there are no negative technical consequences associated with fitting this innovative product. Furthermore, fitting the Larini ‘Sports’ Cat guarantees an increase in 'note' and 'tone'.

The improved quality of a Larini ‘Sports’ Cat is immediately noticeable as soon as it is removed from its box.

Please Note: Simply removing the OE catalyst and replacing it with a de-cat pipe resulted in horrendous drone and boom during our testing and development programme.
